On February 9, 2021, CPA Canada noted that it was in discussions with CRA in respect of filing deadlines and the T1 deadline in particular. Significant feedback had been received from small and medium-sized CPA firms citing concerns about ability to meet the April 30 deadline.
In the February 9, 2021 release from CRA in respect of COVID related interest and waiver relief, a comment was included at the bottom stating that “CRA has not extended the tax filing deadline”.
CPA Canada mentioned that discussions are ongoing and an update will be provided when more details are available.
